Robert Black is the Director of the International Centre of Graphic Technology (ICGT), School of Design at RMIT University. Robert has over thirty-five years experience in the printing industry and the education sector in Australia. Robert's responsibilities for the overall operations of the ICGT. Robert is a long-standing committee member of the Lithographic Institute of Australia, also having been past-President of the LIA Victorian Division, and currently represents the association as Federal Vice-President.
Since entering the industry as an apprentice and progressing into teaching, Robert has held numerous academic roles and has had a natural progression from teaching, consultancy and then to management. As a teacher and as a Manager, Robert has been responsible for a quite diversified project portfolio and the development of "strategic partnerships" with industry groups. Robert is particularly proud of the State Government's acknowledgement of the ICGT as a "Specialist Centre", and the on-going National recognition that the ICGT is a "Centre of Excellence" for Printing and Graphic Technology training, in Australia and throughout the South East Asia region.
Robert graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Education Degree, holds a Graduate Certificate in Training Consultancy, a Diploma of Technical Teaching, Certificate IV in Workplace Training, Certificate of Paper Technology and the Certificate III trade qualification in Printing Proficiency.
